The answer to this is B. There is a need for the volume of the blood being produced by the heart to increase because of the condition that the person is going through. There are a lot of people who feel that cardiac output is always a bad thing. People who are suffering from sepsis may experience this.

At this point in time, this is needed in order to cope with the condition that the patient is suffering from Pulmonary edema is a serious condition wherein there is an excess amount of fluid that is found in the lungs. Increase cardiac output

The primary goal of therapy for the client with pulmonary edema or heart failure is increasing cardiac output. Pulmonary edema is an acute medical emergency requiring immediate intervention.
