Peer-to-peer fundraising is a more specified kind of crowdfunding. In peer-to-peer fundraising, you have your cause and linked to that cause are several fundraising pages managed by other individuals with the goal of helping you accumulate more funds for your specific cause, campaign, or for your entire organization overall.

One main reason why peer-to-peer fundraising works is because you’re basically working closely with fundraisers and donors who will then be the ones to spread information about your cause and campaign. This creates a solid momentum from the get-go that will not only help boost funds but will also strengthen the credibility of your campaign.

In terms of best practices, there’s social media which you can maximize to make it easier for people to register and even set up their own peer-to-peer campaigns for your cause. Facebook has been making enhancements to its fundraising features and this is great news for organizations, especially those in the US, who are looking to have a broader reach and have more donors. Add to that the fact that Facebook integration with Salesforce is now possible, and this means access to the proven effective tools of Salesforce is now available to more nonprofits and fundraisers.
