To make you more familiar with the case, you should know that Brandon Bernard was someone who was convicted to death because of a crime that he committed when he was 18 years old. He was executed recently despite the efforts of a lot of people to delay the execution.
His final words are, “I’m sorry. I wish I could take it all back, but I can’t.” He also directed some of his final words to the Bagley family wherein he said, “If my death is what’s needed to heal pain, then so be it.”
According to the associated press, the last words of Bandon Bernard were to the family of the victims. He spoke for more than three minutes, regretting his involvement in the gruesome killing of Todd and Stacie Bagley. He said he had been waiting for a perfect time to apologize to the family of the victims for the pain he caused them. Bernard also apologized for the pain he caused his own family. He said: I’m sorry, that is the only words that I can say that completely capture how I feel now and how I felt that day.†He added that “I wish I was not involved in the incident that happened that day.†Before his death sentence was carried out on December 10, he said if his death is what is needed to heal the pain he has caused the family of the victims, then so be it.
