Brandon Bernard was given the death penalty back in the year 1999 over his involvement with the killing of two people, Todd and Stacie Bagley. His involvement in the situation is said to be minor. He was in charge of setting up the fire and there are some reports that his involvement may have been played up more in order to show why he needs to be executed.
What he did after he was convicted, was to live a life of reform. People say that he has shown that people make mistakes but they can always change. Before his death, there were a lot of people who protested but the Trump administration decided to still push through with it. He was declared dead at 9:27 pm last December 10.
Brandon Bernard was a federal inmate convicted for his involvement in the killing of a couple, Stacie and Todd, in 1999. Brandon Bernard and four other accomplices were teenagers when they killed Todd and Stacie Bagley. After the incident, they were charged to court, and they were convicted in 2000. However, unlike others who were sentenced to serve jail terms, Brandon Bernard was sentenced to death. The reason for this judgment might be because Bernard was the one who burned the couple in the boot of their car. Brandon Bernard was 18 when the incident happened and spent almost two decades as a federal inmate before he was executed on December 10, 2020. His attorneys did all they could to ensure that Bernard was not executed, even as they argued that Bernard didn't have a leading role in the killing of the couple. President Donald Trump failed to halt the execution even after a last-minute appeal by the defense team.
