The correct answer to this question is No. As realistic as Ozark is, it is not based on a true story. Instead, the story of Ozark comes from the imagination of the show creators Mark Williams and Bill Dubuque, along with the other writers on the show. Some people may think that Ozark is based on a true story but it is not. This is just a figment of the writer’s imagination. While the place may be real, the characters of the story are just parts of the writer’s imagination. There are a lot of people who may want the characters to be real because they seem to be living a type of life that other people could only wish for. There is always a lot of excitement going on and while the issues may seem realistic, the fact that this series is really dark and fast-paced can be too much for some people.
