Paralysis is caused by multiple conditions. Paralysis can be defined as the loss of muscle function in the body. Paralysis is often caused by stroke, and others like spinal cord injury, head injury, multiple sclerosis. Paralysis is classified based on the muscles and the effect or the nerves they control. Paralysis can affect any part of the body.
Different types of paralysis affect a different part of the body; this includes quadriplegia; this type of paralysis affects both arms and both legs; paraplegia paralysis affects both legs. Hemiplegia affects only one leg and one arm, both on the same side of the body; monoplegia paralysis affects only one arm or leg.
Lastly, other causes of paralysis include tumors, trauma, muscular dystrophy, toxin, tick paralysis, familial periodic paralysis, hereditary spastic paraplegia, and medication, etc.
