Hiring a mercenary is easy when you have enough money to finance the process. Many countries do hire mercenaries to fight for them, and a lot of them seek the help of mercenaries. An important factor that causes countries to hire mercenaries is when the country is considered a military hotspot, which can be the cause of hiring mercenaries in the past.

In 1989, after the ban that was placed on mercenaries training, use, and hiring, most of the countries and individuals today had stopped hiring mercenaries because of the punishment attached to the law.

Some of the countries where mercenaries are still hired to include Colombia, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Lastly, other individuals hiring mercenaries are doing it in secret and want to get something done without involving the government or military.

The correct answer to this question is none. Currently, no countries are able to have mercenaries. The reason for this is that mercenaries have been illegal since 1989. This law prevents a person from becoming a mercenary, along with prevents a person from creating one. However, before they were illegal, there were many countries that participated in mercenaries. You could see them all over the world, from places like Colombia to places like Iraq. These groups were formed for the purpose of changing leadership or changing laws. These groups formed without involvement from the government to make change on their own.

There were a lot of nations that used to hire mercenaries whenever they felt that they needed to do so. As long as the country is considered to be a military hot spot, there is a big chance that they have hired mercenaries in the past. Take note that while mercenaries were popular before, there was a law that was passed in the year 1989 that prevents people from forming and hiring mercenaries now. Before, you would see mercenaries that were being hired in Afghanistan, Iraq, and even Colombia. There were a lot of private jobs that other groups would like to get done without having to involve the government or the military.
