The Johnson and Johnson baby product is not banned in the USA; however, according to Reuters, in the 1970s, researchers and scientists found the main ingredient in the Johnson & Johnson baby powder, which is talc; the ingredient contains the mineral asbestos, a cancer-causing agent. This prompted the European Union to banned all products that contain talc-containing products. The stores in the United States continue to sell Johnson & Johnson baby powder. However, the company has decided to stop the production of Johnson & Johnson baby powder on May 12, 2020; once the ones on shelves run out the Johnson & Johnson baby powder will no longer be available. The company has announced to protect the integrity and safety of its products as other scientists have also claimed the safety of the products.

No, Johnson’s baby products are not banned in the United States. It is banned in some countries though because of the talc that has been found to contain asbestos. Asbestos is known to be one of the agents that can cause cancer. There are some places wherein Johnson’s baby products are widely used though like in India because most of the items that are being sold are also being manufactured there. There may be some changes that are being done right now to the products to make them safer to be used by different people. Some of the ingredients are being replaced. When it is able to prove that its talc does not contain asbestos anymore, then it will not be banned already in various countries.
