Yes, the upcoming iPhone 12 lineup will be manufactured in India. This forthcoming lineup of the iPhone series is set to be released in mid-2021. The production of the iPhone 12 is in the Narasapura plant in Bengaluru, which is owned by Wistron, Apple’s Taiwanese contract manufacturer. This company is set to hire about 10,000 employees, and production is set to begin in October 2020. It is believed that about 1,000 workers are already on this project.
It is important to note that this is not Apple’s first plant in India. iPhone 11 and iPhone XR were also assembled at the Foxconn plant located in Chennai, India. It is also believed that the ongoing pandemic has affected the delay in Apple’s launch of the iPhone 12.
As per Business Standard's report, iPhone 12 will be available for sale in mid-2021. At the Narasapura plant, the production is expected to get started.
