Locating and knowing the functions of each part of your sewing machine will help you to know how to make use of it properly.
1. Start by locating the power switch, thread guide, spool pin, stitch adjustment buttons, bobbin-winder, tension dial, thread take-up lever, presser foot, needle clamp screw, feed dog, needle plate, etc.
2. The next thing to do is to set up your sewing machine. Putting it on a table or getting a sewing cabinet should be the best thing to do.
3. Insert the needle. When inserting the needle, the part without a tiny hole is what should be fixed to the machine.
4. Wind the bobbin, after which you can insert it.
5. Place the spool of thread unto the spool pin, and put the thread across the tiny hole of the needle. Also, fix the bobbin thread.
6. If you are using an electrical sewing machine, turn it on after plugging the machine in.
