Long multiplication is known to be a method that you can use so that you can multiply things easily.

These are the steps that you have to do in order to accomplish long multiplication properly:

• Write the two numbers one below the other so that you can start the multiplying process.
• You can start with the numbers that can be found on the ones place.
• Always write the bigger number on top.
• You would need to place the number below the tens position after the bar.
• Now you can start multiplying the numbers that can be found on the tens position.
• If you are feeling confused, you can place a zero on the position where you are not going to write any number.

Just continue the needed processes that are available until you are able to come up with the right solution to this problem.

Using long multiplication is something that people normally learn in school. Yet, some people may forget how to do it if they have not done it for a long time.

These are the steps that you need to do if in case your memory needs to be refreshed:

• Write the numbers that you need to multiply.
• Start by multiplying the one's digit of the number. If you get more than a one−digit answer, place the digit in the higher position on the number on the tens place.
• You would do the same for all of the other numbers.
• For the numbers in the tens position, you would need to write the answer below the answer that you have gotten for the position of the one, but make sure that the numbers are not placed directly below.
• Do the same for the numbers in the hundreds position and so on.
• Once you have already gotten all the answers, you can add all of the answers together.

You can double-check your answer with the use of the calculator if you are not sure.

These steps can be followed to do long multiplication.

• Write two numbers on top of each other and draw a line underneath. The bigger number should be written on top.

• Multiply the right top number by the bottom number. Write the second part of the product underneath and the first part on top of the left top number

• From there, multiply the tens top digit by the bottom digit. This will give you the first partial product.

• Write 0 underneath one of the digits.

• Then multiply the ones digit by the number on top.

• From there, multiply the tens digit by the number on top. This will give the second partial product.

• For the answer, add the partial products together.
