The domain of a function is a complete set of the possible values that are available. There are possible values of the independent variable that you should know. This means that the domain will refer to the possible set of x−values that will have the ability to make the function work properly.

The output will then be composed of y−values. When you are trying to find the domain, these are the things you need to remember:

• The denominator cannot be zero.

• The number of the square root should always be positive; otherwise, it will not work.

Look at the values of the independent variables so that you can come up with the right answer.

You may want to find the domain of a function, but you do not know where to begin.

You need to know how you are going to use it:

• You need to know that the domain of f(x)=x2 is going to be different in real numbers.
• Another way by which you can get to know the domain of a function is the possible set of input values.
• You can also know the domain of a function if you have the right graphs available.
• Do remember that the domain of a graph will come with the different input values.
• Remember that the solutions that you will get will be considered as the domain of the functions.

In math, the domain of a function is a set of numbers that can go along with any type of function. In an equation, it is the set of x-values.

To find the function that has a fraction, follow these steps

• First, write out the problem.

• For any fractions that have a variable denominator, set the denominator to zero.

• Next, have the domain stated.

Another way to find the domain of a fraction is when it has a square root.

• First, you would write out the problem.

• Then, the terms inside the radicand should be equal to 0

• Next, have the variable isolated

• Then, you can state the domain.
