Frequency in algebra is very easy to calculate. However, the main problem you may be having is not knowing what the term frequency means.
Frequency is simply the number of times a value appears in a given data set.
1. The first to do to calculate the frequency of a given data set is to look at all the values in a given data set and check how they appear.
2. Create a table where the frequency of each value will be recorded.
3. For instance, say A, B, B, A, A, C , A, A, B, B, C, are the items in a set of data, the frequency of each item will be how many times each appears in the set.
4. Use tally to identify the number of times each item appears in the set.
5. Using the example given above, the frequency of item A is 5 ( the highest frequency), the frequency of item B is 4, while the Frequency of item C is 2(the lowest frequency).
