1. There are different ways of calculating the perimeter of a triangle. However, one of the simplest ways is to add all the three sides of the triangle. This is usually calculated with the formula: P= a+b+c, where a,b,c are the three sides of the triangle, and P is the perimeter of the triangle.

2. The next thing to do is to determine the length of the three sides of the triangle. For equilateral triangles, you can easily find the length of one side, and that will be the same for the other two sides. However, depending on any kind of triangle, the formula is still the same.

3. Let's use an example so we can have a better understanding of this. Let's say the length of the three sides are 7cm, 7cm, and 7cm, then the perimeter of the triangle is P= a+b+c= 7+7+7= 21. With this simple calculation, the perimeter of the triangle is 21cm.
