An E7 is a lovely, bluesy chord. Seventh chords are so-called because they add the 7th note of the major scale to the chord, offering the chord a more blues-inspired sound.

If you know how to already play an E-major chord, it will not be too difficult for you to master.

E7 is an easy chord to learn.

• The subsequent steps will help you learn how to play an E chord on the guitar.

• Leave the top string, the low E open.

• The widest string on the guitar is the 6th string.

• Since it is an E, the root note of an E7.

• You can keep this string open.

• Position your ring finger on the 2nd fret of the A string.

• If you can play E major, the approach is the same for E7.

• Keep the 4th string, the D open.

• This note is called the 7th note, but a higher octave of it than uncovered in the major scale.

• Play the G string on the top or first fret with your index and middle finger.

• The remainder of the strings are left open.

• This note is the same note used in an E major.

• Strum all the strings to sound out your bluesy chord.

If you are trying to learn the guitar, you do not have to worry because there are different chords on the guitar that are not too hard to play. One of these chords is the E7 chord.

if you are trying to learn the guitar, you do not have to worry because there are different chords

• You should know the notes that make up the E7.
• The main note which is E is normally made out of G#, B, and E.
• For the E7, it will sound like E, G#, B, and D.
• Take note that D is the key note so they may sound a bit similar but with distinct differences.

You need to place your different fingers on the G string of the 1st fret and on the A on the 2nd fret. You can try it out several times until you are already happy with how the sound comes out.
