There are a lot of people who would like to teach people how to do long mathematics, but they do not know how they should begin.

These are the steps that you need to take:

• Divide the tens column with the divisor.

• You would need to multiply the divisor by the quotient that you will get when you go to the tens place.

• You would need to subtract the product that you will get from the divisor.

• Then you need to bring down the dividend that you will get to the one's column.

You need to do the process until you get the final answer. To make it easier to teach math, it will be helpful if you would use a pen and paper to describe the process. The person learning it should also know the various number of positions.

• Review: The first step to take when doing the long division is to take a step to the back. Long division seems to be a bit complicated for students as it is a mix of several mathematical operations. Therefore the fundamental steps need to be reviewed.

• Start simple: be sure to have a perfect understanding of the different parts of the division. The dividend is the number at the right-hand side of the equation which represents the amount we are dividing, while the divisor is the number doing the division, the remainder is the number remaining after dividing

• Draw a shape like the square root shape and put the dividend inside it

• Then the divisor goes to the left-hand side of the drawn shape

• Be sure to start this learning with small numbers so as to keep it simple

• Divide the dividend by the divisor and write the answer on top of the shape.
