It can be confusing to balance chemical equations in the beginning, but these are the steps that you have to take to make things easier:

• Identify the various elements that you can find in the equation. Make sure that the number of atoms that will be available will be balanced.

• Take note of the net charge that can be found in the equation.

• You would need to change the coefficients. If you are not familiar with what a coefficient is, this is the number that you can find in front of the available molecule.

• Start by balancing one of the elements. Then balance the other element.

• The elements that are in pure form should be computed and balanced last.

• You can check your work if the equations are properly balanced.
