There are a few things you have to do before changing a tire:

  • Make sure to choose the right location to stop your vehicle.
  • Do not forget to turn on the hazard lights.
  • Choose the parking brake.
  • First, you have to loosen the bolts then exchange the flat tire with a good one.
  • Then, just place the wheel in its right place and tighten the bolts, and you are ready to continue your journey.

• Choose the parking brake.

• Place the wheel wedges. There are different ones available, depending on what you are going to change.

• Remove the wheel cover.

• Loosen the lug nuts.

• To make things easier, you can place a jack underneath the vehicle.

It is no fun getting stuck in a situation in which your tire needs to be fixed, but you are not able to attain mechanical help because you are on the road.

Do you know it is best to learn how to change a tire without asking for help?

• Find a flat, steady, and safe place to change the tire.

• It would be best if you were on a stable level surface that keeps the car from moving.

• Put on the parking brake.

• Position a heavy item in front of the front-back tires.

• Take out the spare tire and jack. Put the jack near the tire that you are going to change.

• Your jack should be in contact with the metal section of the car’s frame.

• Raise the jack until the car is secure.

• The jack should maintain counter to the underneath of the car.

• Safety Check to make sure that the jack is perpendicular to the ground.

• Remove the hubcap and loosen the ruts by turning counterclockwise, just enough to break the resistance.

• Turn the jack to elevate the tire off the ground.

• It would be best if you lifted it high enough to replace the flat tire with the new one.

• Remove the nuts.

• Remove the tire.

• Place the jack on the first solid base.

• Place spare tire onto the hub.

• Make sure it is in alignment then put on the lug nuts.

• Tighten the nuts.

• Lower the vehicle to the ground and eliminate the jack.

• Finish tightening the nuts and replace the hubcap.

• Take the car to the mechanic.
