Though Windows Defender is a security measure, to help protect the computer against security threats, there are steps that can be taken to turn it off completely.
• First, open the start menu on the computer.
• Then, open settings.
• From there, click Update & Security.
• Once that is open, click the tab that states Windows Security.
• Under Protection Areas, find and click Virus & Threat Protection.
• Click the Virus & Threat Protection Settings.
• Under that, it is a section that says Real-Time Protection. From there, an on and off lever can be found. One will need to have the lever on-off to turn off the Windows Defender.
