Having blunt scissors is so frustrating and annoying; cutting something with blunt scissors is not advisable as it can also lead to injury sometimes. Follow these simple steps to save your time and money in getting your scissors to sharpen.

There are lots of ways and objects you can use to sharpen your scissors.

Method 1. Get sandpaper of about 150 grits, fold into half and then use the scissors to cut through the sandpaper. Cut as many times as you want until you get your desired result, then wipe the surface of the scissors with a damp towel. The sandpaper can be used again, so don’t dispose of it yet.

Method 2. Stone is another great and cost-effective method for sharpening your scissors. Make sure you grease your scissors before you commence the activities. File the scissors against the stone till the desired result is met.

You know how irritating it can be when your scissors just don’t cut the way that they are supposed to anymore. Do not worry because you can always find new ways to make your scissors sharp again.

* Some people would shell out money just to get their scissors sharpened. Others would actually buy new scissors.

* You can sharpen scissors with the use of the sandpaper.

* Make sure that you will use medium grit sandpaper for your needs.

* You would need to cut the sandpaper a few times.

* You would need to turn the scissors over and just cut a few more times before you can test if the scissors have gotten sharper.

Sharpen the scissors with sandpaper: Obtain a sandpaper sheet of 150 grit at the least. Fold your sandpaper into half, with the rough side facing outward. Then use your scissors to cut the sandpaper as the blades graze against the sandpaper. Cut long strips several times, up to about 20 times. After you are done with this, get a damp paper towel to wipe your scissors.
Sharpen with aluminum foil: Get a piece of aluminum foil of about 10 inches.

Fold multiple times lengthwise, in order to obtain a thick strip of foil. The thicker the foil, the sharper the scissors would be. With your scissors, cut the aluminum foil lengthwise multiple times from the base to the tip of your scissors. Clean with a warm damp paper towel.

Sharpen with a sharpening stone: you can use buy a sharpening stone in a hardware store, as well as honing oil. Apply little honing oil or water on the stone. Disengage or lose your scissors and sharpen as due. Tighten it when you are through and use it to cut any material like fabrics, paper or cardboard to remove the blurred part from the blade.

Scissors are an important tool to have. Whether for school projects or crafts, it is important to keep a pair of scissors.

Some may think that when they go dull, it would be easier to just buy a new pair, but these simple steps can be taken to sharpen a pair of scissors.

• Have a sharpening stone

• With the stone wet the surface of it with water or honing oil.

• Once wet, the blade of the stone can be laid on the stone.

• Draw the blade across the entire stone.

• This should be done for 10 to 20 strokes until it reaches the desired sharpness.
