Finding the perimeter of a triangle is something anyone can do. However, since we were taught this in primary school, there is a tendency that we might have forgotten how to go about it.

Follow these procedures to find your perimeter.

To solve the perimeter, you have to remember your formula, and if you don’t, it is:
P= a+b+c
Where P= perimeter
a+b+c= the three sides of the perimeter.

Since you now recall that all your formula, input your values. Assuming your values are 3, 3, 4 as the sides. Add your values as in the formula, 3+3+4=10. When solving for triangles, you have to put your units, which is 10 units.

Let us say that you would like to solve for the perimeter of a triangle. The best way to do this is to know the formula.

* To solve for the perimeter of a triangle, you simply need to place P=a+b+c.

* There are different online websites that will allow you to calculate the perimeter but this is also something that you can do easily even without an online calculator.

* You simply need to add the different sides of the triangle.

* Knowing what types of triangle, you are dealing with may help a lot too.

Take note that it will be different if you would need to find the missing side of the triangle. You do not need to search for a perimeter anymore if that’s the case.

Follow these simple steps to find the perimeter of a triangle.

• Know the formula: You must first of all know or remember the formula for finding the perimeter of a triangle. On case you did not know. The formula is represented by p=a+b+c; where p simply stands for perimeter of triangle, and a, b, and c stands for the three sides of the triangle. Note: you do not necessarily have anything to do with either a side is longer or shorter

• Input your values: substitute the value for the sides of triangle into the letters a, b, and c on the formula above. Sometimes, you may need to employ a new method to obtain a side of the triangle. Assuming the three sides of a triangle are 2, 2, and 4; so you can say a=2, b=2, and b=3.

• Calculate the final answer: The next thing to do is to calculate the sum of a, b, and c. For example, consider the above examples, you will have 2 + 2 + 4, which is equal to 8.

• Input your unit: always input your unit in your workings and the final answer especially. Units of triangle are mostly in meters.

The perimeter is important to know on a triangle because it is the length around the triangle. There are several ways to find the perimeter of a triangle.

The following way to do so is when all three sides are known.

• First, write down the formula P = a + b + c. A, B, and C represent all sides of the triangle.

• Look at the triangle to find the length for all the sides.

• Add all of the sides together to find the perimeter.

• Be sure to include the unit of measurement in the answer.
