Addressing a letter simply starts with writing the addresses in the right way and in the right position.
• Write your own name and address at the top left corner of the envelope. Make sure you use your official name and your detail address.
• Write the recipient's name at the center of the envelope. Write the name in full, and ensure it’s the official name. Also, ensure you add the correct title to the name, such as Mr., Mrs., Ms., etc.
• If it is an official letter referring to an organization, write the name of the organization or company on the next line.
• You may need to add an office or apartment number to some address.
• Just on the next line, write the city, state, and zip code of the recipient. Ensure you write the city and state in a title case.
• If you are writing an international letter, kindly add the recipient's country also to it.
• Lastly, affix a postage stamp to the top right corner of the envelope.
