A desktop is referred to as a physical computer unit and a workspace in an office or home, and the most common desktop components include a computer terminal powered by a grounded electrical source, such as a wall outlet. The desktop is attached to an external monitor.

It would be challenging to transport a desktop. A laptop, on the other hand, is an all in one computer that uses batteries or AC power that can last for many hours. Unlike the desktop, the laptop computer is portable and easy to carry.

It can be used if the battery lasts or can be plugged into an outlet. Laptops have built-in monitors, a keyboard, and typically a touchpad. The laptop can be used even if it is not electrically hooked up to something.

A desktop is the classic form of the computer, as it is big, generally sits on the top of a desk, and you may also call it a home computer. The most common part of the desktop is the computer terminal, which is powered by a grounded electrical source. The computer comes with all separate equipment, so it is not easily portable. The parts include an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse through Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

A laptop, on the other hand, is quite compact and convenient. It is an all in one computer where all the parts are already connected. These parts include a monitor, keyboard, and typically a touchpad or trackball. It does, however, require battery power, so if you leave the house with it, remember to bring the cord. The laptop may be used as a fully functioning unit without any connected device or power.

Some people would like to choose laptops while there are others who would rather choose desktops. Desktops are known to have higher capacities, higher RAMs, plus they can always be customized and upgraded without having to upgrade everything.

You can just choose to upgrade the parts that you feel will be beneficial to how you would use it. Laptops are known to work like desktops, but they are more portable. You can bring them almost everywhere, and they will already come with some built-in components. Desktops will require you to purchase accessories separately while the laptop will already have everything that you need.
