Indian culture exemplifies many different lifestyles, beliefs, and even caste systems. There are several languages in different parts of the country, including Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Urdu, etc. Indian and Western food are also vastly different. Indians prefer lunch to be their big meal of the day. They love to eat curried chicken, lots of rice, naan bread, goat, and other foods with various spices like turmeric and cumin.

Indians do not like to show too much skin, as they tend to dress more appropriately than those in the Western world. Most women prefer to wear sari's or tops. Family life is also of great importance to the Indians. New philosophies and ideas characterize Western culture, the dominant religion is Christianity, and dinner is the day's big meal.

Dinner may include American fares such as burgers and fries, pizza, hotdogs, and fried chicken. They tend to be less creative with spices than in Indian culture. Western culture tends to be freer with the clothes they wear. There are so many distinct styles of fashion. They like to wear jeans and tank tops in the summer, bulky sweaters, and Ugg boots in the winter. Professionals also have their style of dress. Both countries tend to value family life, especially during the holidays.

There are a lot of differences between American and Indian culture. One aspect that they are very different is the way that they take care of their families. For instance, in America, those who are considered to be old are placed in different nursing homes. There are some of them that feel sad because they are not visited anymore. Old people in America are normally considered to be useless. In India, they would like to take care of their elders. They feel that a lot of the things that they have and how they are is because of how their elders took care of them when they were younger.

Indian culture is very different from Western culture, and in India, the family is prominent, and it is the most valuable part of the Indian lifestyle. Most marriages in India are arranged; however, it is starting to become common to choose your partner. The Indian women traditionally wear Sari’s, which is a drape or wrap that comes up the front and down the back.

Children in India wear Pattu Langa, and the men wear a kurta. Dhoti is the national dress of India, which is worn by men. The Indian culture consists of a plethora of religions, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Jainism, Sikhism, and Christianity. The food in India is cooked with a wide array of spices, especially turmeric, and they enjoy eating a heavy lunch and a light dinner. In the Western portion of the world, there are all types of food from many different countries to eat.

Of course, there is the all-American meal of a cheeseburger and fries. There is also pizza, Mexican, and seafood, to name a few. Fast food is prevalent in Western culture because of its convenience and low price. The Western way is to eat a light lunch and then a big dinner. Family is not so much encouraged as an individualistic approach to life is. The social life is typically bars and clubs.
