Indian culture exemplifies many different lifestyles, beliefs, and even caste systems. There are several languages in different parts of the country, including Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Urdu, etc. Indian and Western food are also vastly different. Indians prefer lunch to be their big meal of the day. They love to eat curried chicken, lots of rice, naan bread, goat, and other foods with various spices like turmeric and cumin.
Indians do not like to show too much skin, as they tend to dress more appropriately than those in the Western world. Most women prefer to wear sari's or tops. Family life is also of great importance to the Indians. New philosophies and ideas characterize Western culture, the dominant religion is Christianity, and dinner is the day's big meal.
Dinner may include American fares such as burgers and fries, pizza, hotdogs, and fried chicken. They tend to be less creative with spices than in Indian culture. Western culture tends to be freer with the clothes they wear. There are so many distinct styles of fashion. They like to wear jeans and tank tops in the summer, bulky sweaters, and Ugg boots in the winter. Professionals also have their style of dress. Both countries tend to value family life, especially during the holidays.
