When you say “Bollywood,” you are referring to the film and movie industry that may be similar to Hollywood which is a place that is popular in America wherein people are expected to meet a lot of celebrities. There are also some people who would use this term when they would like to refer to the type of dances that people normally do in Bombay.

When you say “Bhangra,” this is going to be a bit different. This is going to be more traditional and it is normally done energetically. There are different folk dances that are available under this category. Knowing the differences will help you know which term to use whenever needed.

Bhangra is a traditional Punjabi folk dance. Although this type of music originated from the Indian state of Punjab, the music is now very popular in some countries in Asia, particularly in India. According to history, Bhangra is originally a style of music used for the celebration of the seasonal harvest. On April 13, every year, bhangra is usually performed by the Punjabis to mark the day of Baisakhi.

While Bollywood refers to the Hindi film industry, it will be discussed in relation to the style of music and dance that are commonly used in Hindi movies. It is important to note that the Bollywood dance of the past was a complete reflection of the Indian traditions.

However, modern Bollywood dance has been transformed to include some elements of the western countries. When performing bhangra, there are people who sing the Loriyaan and Boliyaan lyrics, as well as people who beat the dhol drum. On the other hand, Bollywood dance consists of a performer who is probably the hero or heroine of the movie plus other people who dance with him or her.
