There are different people who may feel that ogres and trolls are the same because they are considered mythical creatures or even monsters. The main difference between the two is their size. Ogres are normally large creatures. Trolls, on the other hand, are known to be short and lumpy. They are creatures that are meant to have really weird hair.

Trolls are known to eat plants but they do have the tendency to kill humans because they would like to use humans as fertilizers so that their plants that they consume will grow well. Ogres may be known for their size but trolls are known to be more hideous creatures.

Growing up, children learn about a number of different fairy tale creatures. Two of the most famous creatures are ogres and trolls. If you are familiar with the movie Shrek, then you are familiar with ogres as Shrek is an ogre.

They are like monsters, but they have features of human beings. They are very large in size and can be very frightening. Sometimes, the word ogre itself is used to describe a person that is wicked.

Trolls are supernatural beings with characteristics that are also like humans. They stay on hills and can be dangerous and wicked themselves, however, they are looked at as having more sense than ogres.

Ogre and troll can be differentiated by comparing some of the characteristics of the two fairy tale creatures. Ogres are mostly described as monsters having the characteristics and appearance of human beings. They are often described as monstrous, large, cruel, and frightful.

They are fairy tale creatures that eat human flesh. At times, people use it as a metaphor to describe people that are cruel, wicked, and those with certain bad habits. On the other hand, trolls are supernatural beings of different sizes living in hills, caves, under bridges, especially the grotesque creatures with certain human characteristics.

They have certain characteristics similar to that of ogres, as they are often described as cunning, wicked, dangerous, and can as well feed on human beings. Trolls usually stay in dark places because it is believed that they can be destroyed by the sunlight. Another difference is that they are often considered to be more sensible than ogres.

Ogres are shown to be humanoid monsters. Ogres are very large, so hideous, and very cruel, and they are also considered to feed on humans beings. They can also be referred to as human predators. Their physical appearance includes having a very large head and an abundance of hair. They are also considered to be humanly intelligent.

At the same time, trolls on the other end are depicted to be supernatural creatures or beings. They have a smaller size when compared to the Ogres. They are of varying appearances, which includes ugly or human forms. Some are dim-witted or very cunning. Ogres take their origin from French folklore while Troll's origin is from the Scandinavian folklore. Ogres cannot turn into stones when in contact with sunlight, but trolls do transform into stone when in contact with sunlight. Ogres were depicted to be unreasonable and murderous, but trolls could be reasoned with, and they may or not feed on humans.
