When you say remote desktop connection, this means to say that you would like to take control of the computer that you are using even from a distance. This means that you will have exclusive access to the different things that you can find on your desktop.

When you say Windows Remote Assistance, this means that you need to give partial control to the computer that you may have. This means that you would use this to access your keyboard, your mouse, and your shared desktop. Take note that you would need to share this with another person so that you will be able to use this effectively.

Remote desktop and remote assistance are both related to technology and computers. Remote desktops can allow a person to access their computer through an entirely different computer. This is especially important to those that work from home. They can use their personal computer to access the desktop that they have at work. The remote desktop will mirror the functions and features that they have at work.

Remote assistance allows a person to remote into your computer. This is commonly used with IT, where they may remote into a computer to understand and fix an issue. The user can also see what the assistance is doing while they are on their computer.

Remote Desktop and Remote Assistance are both similar in the sense that they allow remote control of your computer. However, they are used differently to achieve this purpose. Remote Desktop is a technology that allows you to make use of your computer by using another computer. For instance, Remote Desktop allows you to control the resources in your home computer right from your office.

People make use of this when they need to access their computer from another computer. Remote Assistance, on the other hand, is a similar technology as it allows you to grant someone else unhindered access to your computer, while you watch as the person helps you out with anything on your computer.

Before Remote Assistance can be used, you must enable it. Once connected, the person that wants to work remotely on your computer can only view your computer, meaning you will need to grant them permission to use or control your machine.

Remote desktop and remote assistance are very similar when you compare the technology they use to carry out their functions. Remote desktop is a technology that allows you to use or access your computer via another computer. This means you can be in your office and, at the same time accessing the computer in your bedroom even when you are not physically present.

Since you are doing this remotely, that explains why it is called remote desktop. Remote assistance, on the other hand, is also a technology that allows you to grant someone else the permission to access your computer while the two of you are not physically present at the same place. Say you have things you need to fix on your computer, and you need someone to help you, remote assistance will make this happen.

The amazing thing is that you will be able to monitor the person working remotely on your computer via your screen. One of the major differences between the two is that; unlike in remote desktop, you will need to be present so that you can grant the other person the right to work on your computer.

Remote desktop allows you to have access to your computer even when you are not physically present new it. It gives you the chance to operate a computer from another computer. As for remote assistance, it is usually used when you want to give someone accessories to your computer, as you, as the administrator, needs to give permission to the other party.

You have the remote desktop service in your Windows XP professional. Meanwhile, you can get remote assistance in your Windows XP home and edition and Windows XP professional edition. If you want to access the remote desktop and remote assistance through your Windows OS, you will have to go through by pressing or clicking the start button.

Remote desktop is under "Accessories" under "All programs"; while the remote assistance is accessed by inviting a friend through the "help and support" button. Lastly, remote assistance requires the owner of the system, while remote desktop does not necessarily do.
