The most recent edition of the version of Microsoft’s music player is the Zune HD, with HD, which means High Definition. Probably the first noticeable difference is that Zune HD is smaller and way very much lighter than other Zunes.
There are many factors that contribute to this, which made Zune HD smaller than Zune. Despite the fact that the Zune HD is smaller, it has a larger screen. While other Zunes had screens of up to 3 inches, the HD has about a 3.3-inch screen.
The reduction in size is basically because of the removal of the Zune pad, which used to be the primary interface for the device. Instead, the Zune HD uses a touch-screen interface. The removal of the Zune pad allowed more space for the screen but reducing the size of the device. Although the Zune HD has a higher resolution, it is not HD at a mere 480×272 pixels.
