CSS is an abbreviation for Cascading Style Sheets, which is an application used for the formatting or designing of web pages. The CSS however, does not work in isolation; it is designed to be used with HTML and XML in order to give web developers and users more control over their layout, which includes positioning, styling, and display designing.
All internet browsers out there support CSS. While JavaScript is also developed for web pages that use HTML, it is only supported by the major browsers alone, which include internet explorer and Firefox. CSS is simpler and very basic in formatting and designing web pages, while JavaScript is way more advanced and has more functionality for a web page. Unlike CSS, the JavaScript can be used to validate forms, it can also detect visitor browsers, and it can also be used for the retrieval and storage of information from the visitors’ computer.
