Gel nails and acrylic nails are two types of nail extensions used mostly by women to make their fingers look nice. Although these two artificial nails are usually made from the same materials i.e., and polymer powder and monomer liquid, but gel nails also consist of oligomers. The presence of these oligomers in gel nails is the reason why they are more flexible compared to acrylic nails.

Gel nails are fixed by placing one's fingers under ultraviolet light for a few minutes in order to harden it. It is important to know that this is not the only method that can be used to harden gel nails; there are some special gels that can be applied to harden gel nails.

Acrylic nails, on the other hand, are very common and can be fixed by using a glue that has been designed for this purpose. Another thing about acrylic nails is that they are very easy to fix compared to gel nails. Most people go for acrylic nails because they are very cheap, whereas gel nails are a bit expensive.

Women love to enhance their nails and there are many ways to do so. Two of the most popular ways to do so are through gel and acrylic nails. Between the two, gel nails look more natural than acrylic nails do. Another difference between them is in regards to cost. Gel nails are much cheaper.

They can start around $20, while acrylic nails start around $30 to $40. The reason for the difference in costs is in regards to how long they last. Acrylic nails can last much longer and they take longer to do, while gel nails do not last as long.

Gel nails and acrylic nails are just two out of the most used artificial nails by women. Actually, the same material is what they use in making these two nails, which are polymer powder and monomer liquid. But in addition to the gel nail, a short-chain monomer called oligomer is also part of the material, which in turn makes the nail more flexible.

You can make gel nails for yourself with your fingers placed under ultraviolet light for about two minutes to get it hardened. This is referred to as light cured gel nails. Gel nails are odorless, glossy, and also tend to break easily. On the other hand, you can easily find the acrylic nails simply because they are common and are the most used.

You can even fix it for yourself; just get the glue that is specially made for it. And with a little artistic touch, you can apply the design on your acrylic nails too. If you want to hide your bad, broken, or damaged nails, acrylic nails are generally used for that function.
