One of the major differences between coconut milk and cream of coconut is the thickness of these two liquids. Although coconut milk is a thick liquid similar to that of cow's milk, the cream of coconut is thicker. Coconut milk is usually gotten when by simmering shredded coconut in one part of the water.

Cream of coconut, on the other hand, is gotten by simmering four parts of the grated coconut in one part of the water. During this process, the cream rising to the top of the vessel being used is the cream of coconut. It is sweeter compared to coconut milk.

That is why cream of coconut is usually regarded as the sweetened version of coconut milk. It is also more concentrated than coconut milk since no water is present. As I said, coconut milk looks similar to cow's milk, so it can be used in place of cow's milk. The higher the fat content of the cream of coconut is another difference between the two.

The world is moving in a more healthier way and one of the indicators of that is through the food that a person is eating. This starts with the ingredients used. Coconut has been a healthier alternative to milk for it helps burn fat and it has a rich taste.

There is coconut milk, as well as coconut cream. One of the differences between them is how they are made. Coconut milk is made from 1 part of coconut that is shredded and 2 parts of just water. Coconut cream is made with 4 parts of shredded coconut and 1 part water.

It is very clear even with their names that coconut milk and cream of coconut are not the same. One of the major differences between the two is the thickness of the two liquids. Although both are thick, the cream of coconut is thicker than coconut milk. Another difference is that both are produced differently.

For instance, the production of coconut milk comes by soaking grated (the white inner flesh of the seed of the coconut) in water and straining. Cream of coconut, on the other hand, is a thicker, sweetened version of coconut cream because it has more sugar than coconut milk.

Since coconut milk is not as thick as the cream of coconut, it hardens slowly compared to the latter. Although both contain fat, the fat content of cream of coconut is higher than that of coconut milk. However, aside from these little differences, the health benefits of the two are the same.
