Area and perimeter are two calculations that are done in math. These calculations focus on shapes. The area is used to measure the inside of a shape. The equation that is done for measuring the area is Length x Width. First, you will want to get the length of the shape. Then, the width. Then, multiply those figures together to get the area.
Perimeter differs because it is used to measure the distance around the shape. To find the perimeter, you would measure each side of the shape. For example, with a triangle, you will measure the three sides. Then, add them all together.
A lot of people are used to some of the terms that they have used in the past but as time goes by, people may forget what exactly they are for. Area and perimeter can be easy to interchange but they definitely have differences. When you say the area, you are referring to the amount of space that you can find inside a certain shape.
For example, you may be in the quadrangle. If you want to know how big the inside of the quadrangle is, you need to compute for the area. When you say perimeter, this means that you are referring to the space that can be found outside the shape.
This means that you need to measure the outside of the quadrangle.
