What is the difference between Foundation and Concealer?

Foundation and concealer are cosmetic products used to beautify the face. Both foundation and concealer come in different shades; they perform a similar function. However, they have their unique characteristics.

Foundation can be applied on the skin to give the skin a clearer look and a uniform color while the concealer is used to hide dark circles, pimples, blemishes, or dark marks. Foundation is applied to the large area like the face while the concealer is applied too heavily pigmented area; this enables it to easily cover blemishes, scars, and pimples.

Foundation comes in different shades such as light, medium, sheer or full coverage while the concealer is available in large varieties of colors from the light to dark and even deeper colors. Foundations are also available in different forms, such as the powder-based, water-based, oil-based, Matte, alcohol-based, emollient based, and silicone-based.
