Svo2 is an acronym for Mixed venous saturation of oxygen, while Scvo2 is an acronym for central venous oxygen saturation.

Svo2 is the percentage of oxygen left in the venous blood that is returning to the right side of the heart, while Scvo2 is the saturated oxygen of venous blood coming from the head and the upper body. Svo2 measured the amount of oxygen left in the venous blood left by the body tissues while the Scvo2 is measured from the superior vena cava that drains blood from the head and the upper body to the heart.

The blood collection procedure is less risky and complicated because the blood is collected from the superior vena cava, while in the case of Svo2, the value is assessed by collecting the three samples from three different regions. The svo2 normal level is 60%, while the Scvo2 is 2-3% lower than the svo2.
