The main difference between this two-internet connection is the speed; the ADSL2 speed is up to 12Mbps while the ADSL speed is 8Mbps. ADSL2 can give a good network in the distance while the ADSL has a limit to how far it can go.

The ADSL2 was introduced in 2002, while the ADSL was introduced in 1998. ADSL2 has been made to work in all ADSL specs. That is, it is backward compatible with ADSL.
