What is the difference between 3G and LTE?

3G is the third generation of wireless mobile telecom for data transfer. It is not the first and has not been the last as the telephone networks are introducing 5G. At this time, 3G is fast enough to handle most day to day internet services, and some carriers use 3G only; however, with the fast-paced world in which we live, people want speed, and the newer phones are geared to work with 4G or 5G.

LTE, which is Long Term Evolution, and is usually referred to as 4G LTE. This version lets you download music, websites, and video at a very fast pace. Normal LTE is a bit slower on its own; however when it is paired with 4G. LTE could be considered a booster that enhances 3G.

Compared to 3G, LTE is a newer network, which produces faster speeds. LTE is better suited to be used in newer devices.
