Parallel lines are lines that will never connect on a plane, and they are always at an equal distance apart. If stair steps are not parallel with each other, we will fall. Two parallel lines have the same slopes, and they will never contact each other.
However, for two lines to be parallel. Lines cannot continually be parallel, and they must be on the same plane. Lines can overlap, and when they do, angles are created at their intersection point. When the lines intersect at a right angle, meaning with a gauge of 90 degrees, the lines that established these angles are said to be perpendicular.
In geometry, perpendicular means at an angle. When a line joins another line at a right angle or 90 degrees perpendicular, a line that produces a right angle with another is called a perpendicular line.
