Some people may become confused with which one is stronger. Is it going to be FBI agents or US Marshals? Take note that the FBI is still considered to be the highest investigating agency in the United States. This means that if there are some high profile cases that need to be handled, except that it will be the FBI who will take over.

The US Marshals will be in charge of handling the custody process of the various prisoners or suspects that have been arrested by the different Federal agencies. If in case any member of the FBI is suspected to have committed a crime, the case will not be handled by the US Marshal. Yet, if a US Marshal is a suspect to a crime, he/she will be investigated by the FBI.

The federal bureau of investigation (FBI) and the U.S marshal are both parts of the federal law enforcement, but they serve different purposes. The Federal Bureau Investigation is an intelligence agency that is under the United States department of justice.

The federal bureau helps to carry out an investigation and also has offices in about 50 countries. The headquarters of the FBI is in the J. Edgar Hoover building in Washington. The FBI is responsible for handling white-collar crime, cyber-crime, public corruption, etc. The U.S marshal is the enforcement arm of the federal courts, it is one of the oldest federal law offices in the United States, and the U.S marshal imposes order around the nation. Its main responsibility includes serving arrest warrants, seeking fugitives, and also involved in transporting prisoners, etc. The headquarters is located in Arlington, Virginia.
