Cougars are the fourth largest animal of the feline persuasion, they tend to live in the mountains, and they have a slender build. Their coat is equal parts yellow and brown, but the belly is white with some dark patches. The coat may also be a silvery grey or reddish color minus the intricate stripes. They do not have the same vocal pronouncement as lions, panthers, and jaguars maintain or, in other words, they do not roar.
They do, however, project low-pitched hisses, purrs, growls, and whistles. Cougars have the most massive hind paw of all the big cats. Cougar is the popular name in North America, while Puma is the popular name in South America. Puma is a big cat species. The body of the Puma contains dull coats that range from silvery grey to reddish-brown. Pumas have a round face, erected ears, and the rear of these species is as long as it’s head and body. The Puma is muscular with large, sharp paws and laws.
The areas that a puma is typically found include Southern Argentina, Chile, and Alaska. It is the second-largest cat in the family of big cats, only second to the jaguar. Even though they are small in stature, they are related to the smaller feline species. Pumas are also commonly known as cougars and mountain lions.
