There are a lot of people who may assume in the beginning that British and Australian English are going to be the same especially since they are both English. Yet, there are some differences in terms of how certain words are pronounced.

One of the most notable differences in vowel pronunciation. There are some words that are similar to the fact that they both use the word “lift” in order to refer to the elevator. There are also some differences in the way that some words will be said even if they mean the same thing.

If you would like to become more familiar with the accents, you can watch various television shows that make use of Australian and British accents.
