Wimax technology uses a spectrum that varies from about 2.2GHz to about 3.4GHz. The bandwidth runs from 1.25MHz to about 20.5MHz, based on the demand placed by the users. The basic limitation with the Wimax technology is that it can either clock up to 65Mbps or run through a radius of about 50km, but it cannot have both.

The closer it is to the link, the easier it is to find a strong communication link. Else, a weak link will be observed, owing to the distance between the radio and link receiver signal. While WiMAX2, on the contrary, is an IEEE 802.16m standard whose implementation was furnished in the year 2012. The main thing it has to offer is that it is so compatible with the present Wimax technology. This proves that the upgrade will be somewhat cost-effective to the user. It downlink can exceed 120Mbps.

To understand their difference, you should first understand what WiMax means. WiMax means Wireless Inter−operability for Microwave Access. This is a type of long-range technology, and it will have the ability to do transmissions that are far longer than what WiFi can ever provide. WiMax 2 is considered to be the better version of WiMax. WiMax 2 speeds will be higher than 70Mbps. In fact, the projected speed will be up to 300Mbps. Right now, WiMax is still being used more by different establishments, but it is expected that later on, WiMax 2 will start to become more popular, especially with all the upgrades that it can offer.

WiMAX and WiMaX 2 are two types of technologies that are used in Internet communication. They are both the reason why users are able to have high speed internet. Though they are both used for the same purpose, there are many differences between them. WiMax2 has a higher speed than WiMAX.

WiMax2 offers users up to 300mbps, while WiMax only offers up to 70Mbps. Another difference between them is in regards to spacing and connection. If a person is not close to the WiMax2, they will still be able to have a strong connection. With WiMax, a person must be close to it for it to be useful.

WiMax is something that is used in order to create wireless network connections that can be used by different people right now. This is being used in order to provide different internet services to people who are in need. If you have wondered how it is possible to make use of mobile hotspots and mobile data, you would need to thank WiMax for that.

WiMax 2 is obviously the upgraded version of WiMax. It is meant to provide an even better internet connection to those who would use it. Some people still do not see the need to transfer at this point but some understand how helpful it can be depending on the industry that they are in right now.

Although WiMAX and WiMAX2 are part of the technologies used in wireless Internet communication to offer high-speed internet connection to users, there are still a lot of differences. Some of these differences are basically in terms of their speed, capacity, etc. Out of the two, WiMAX2 offers a higher maximum speed compared to WiMAX.

Although WiMAX and WiMAX2 are part of the technologies used in wireless Internet communication to
Unlike WiMAX that offers up to 70Mbps, WiMAX2 offers up to 300mbps. WiMAX only offers up to this if you are close to the link, whereas, with a long distance away from WiMAX2, the connection will still be strong. Another difference is that both use different spectrums. While WiMAX uses a spectrum that ranges from 2.3 GHz to 3.5 GHz, WiMAX2 uses a spectrum that ranges from 5 MHz to 40 MHz. Although, the WiMAX technology is more in use than WiMAX2, the use of WiMAX2 is expected to rise more because it offers more benefits compared to WiMAX.
