The word TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It is a nonprofit organization, which, through media, has free online distribution talks. It was founded in 1984. Its primary goal is to educate on science, culture, and academic topics. The conversations may be short, but they are usually remarkably exciting and motivating. They are generally only around twenty minutes. The organization covers all topics, ranging to everything from technology, entertainment, and design. Another area of interest, especially in the current world we live in, global business has become a hot topic. The talks come in many different languages.
TEDx, on the other hand, is a private event, much like TED, which people can organize. Like TED events, TEDx events are specially coordinated by volunteers in the community, and the speakers do not receive any monetary gain from this. The most prominent reason for hosting the event is to inspire, provoke, and create relationships within the community. The major distinction between the pair is that while TED talks are global, TEDx focuses on the local community.
