One of the main differences between the two is the fermenting process. Lager beers are made from bottom-fermenting yeast, while amber is made from top-fermenting yeasts. During the process of brewing lager, low temperature is used for a substantial period of time. The yeast is fermented at temperatures below ten degrees Celsius or 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

There is also a difference in alcohol content between the two. The lager beers come with low alcohol content, while the alcohol content in amber beers is higher. The lager beers derive their name as it can be put to the side or stored.

The name amber refers to a demonstration of beers with a wide array of colors. The amber beers are brighter than lager beers, while lager beers possess a uniquely strong flavor, taste, and aroma.
