One significant difference between a sunroof and a moonroof is that sunroofs were designed to allow the sunlight into the cars. Sunroofs are usually made with specific materials. This material is often the same metal that is used to fabricate the body of the vehicle. On the other hand, moonroofs are made out of glass.
A moonroof is often tinted using the same tint material used on the car’s windows and windshields to protect the people in the vehicle from the potentially harmful UV rays. A sunroof can be moved physically or mechanically to allow you to open the roof so that not only would light be permitted to enter, it also delivers a cool breeze as you drive. Moonroofs, on the contrary, is stationary, which means they could not be opened. Their primary purpose is to allow light to come in. On the downside, cars with sunroofs may be more of a hassle considering the maintenance that is involved.
