If you are not familiar with CR and DL, these are known to be batteries that can be used for different items that would need to be powered by batteries. DL and CR batteries can be interchanged as long as you would follow the numbers that are assigned to them.
Problems will only start to arise if you use different numbers. CR batteries are considered to be very generic. The AA and the AAA batteries that you will see can be CR batteries. DL batteries are the batteries that are created by Duracell. There are also AA and AAA batteries that are created by Duracell.
The main difference between CR and DL batteries is just the manufacturer. CR is a generic designation, not unlike double A and triple A. It is utilized by most of the battery makers. However, the DL designation is used by the battery maker, Duracell. The Duracell product has a higher capacity. DL and CR batteries are interchangeable, but the numbers have to be the same.
For example, a DL 4208 may be used to replace a CR 4208 battery. The numbers on the battery represent the actual physical dimensions of the battery. The last two digits involve the thickness of the battery, while the first two pertain to the diameter of the battery.
