There are some codenames that are used to describe the different motherboards that are used on the Xbox 360. One main difference is that Zephyr is going to have an HDMI port, while the Xenon will not have an HDMI port. Between the two, Xenon is also older since it was released in the year 2005 to 2006.
Zephyr was released soon after as it was released in the year 2006 but lasted until 2007 before the Elite design for Xbox came out. A lot of experts will say that it is not ideal to buy any of the two anymore, especially at this time. There are a lot of motherboards that have already been released that are far better than these two.
Xenon and Zephyr are codenames for various motherboards utilized in a variety of styles of the Xbox 360. The Xenon is the earliest one and is located on the core version, which comes in a low-cost package. Zephyr has an HDMI port, although Xenon doesn’t.
A port may seem insignificant, but it is an enormous difference if you also have other HD appliances. The Zephyr can connect with HDTV’s display at HD resolutions for brighter and more impressive graphics. The inability of an HD interface connection with the Xenon also indicates that it cannot transmit HD video. Even when it links to an HDTV, only SD resolutions may be applied. Even though the Xbox 360’s with the Zephyr motherboard is HDMI capable, it does not ship with an HDMI cable. It must be purchased separately.
