One thing should be clear, “defence” and “defense” are both acceptable ways to spell these words. The obvious difference is that they are spelled differently. One comes with a c while the other one comes with an s. The spelling may depend on where they will be used.

For example, if it would be used in Britain, the word will be spelled with a “c.” If it would be spelled in the United States of America, it will be spelled with an “s.” It is important that you will use the same spelling throughout something that you are writing so that it will be more consistent and people will not get confused while they are reading.

Most times, the reason why people ask if there is any difference between defense and defense is that the spelling of the two words looks very similar except for the presence of the letter 'C' in one and letter 'S' in the other. To answer this question, I will say there is no difference between defense and defense as far as their meanings are concerned. However, the major difference between the two words is that one is used in British English, while the other is used in American English.

The defense is the British spelling, while the defense is used in American English instead of defense. Countries like the UK, Australia, and Canada prefer to use defense to defense. In contrast, the defense is mostly by Americans and in some countries in Asia. Aside from this little difference, both words are used to mean the same thing. For example, they can be used to refer to the action of protecting something from attack, injury, or danger. In sport, these two words are used to refer to a strategy employed by a team to stop their opponent from scoring.
