George Floyd is an African American that was killed on the 25th of May 2020. George was killed by a police officer Derek Chauvin in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The officer knelt on George's neck for about nine minutes while been handcuffed. He was arrested for suspicion of using counterfeit bill; according to report, he yielded, but Officer Chauvin knelt on his neck and refused to let go even after Floyd repeatedly called out to the officer that he can’t breathe.

People around were pleading to the other officers with Chauvin, but they refused to listen and stopped them from videoing. About three minutes later, Floyd was not moving and had no pulse. The officers in charge were fired, and Officer Chauvin was charged with the second and third-degree of murder and second degree of manslaughter.

George Floyd’s death became a hot topic not only in the United States but all over the world because of how he was killed. A policeman pressed down on his neck until such time when he died. He has experienced a cardiopulmonary arrest because he was being restrained by the police.

He managed to live for about 8 minutes and 46 seconds and he was saying that he couldn’t breathe the whole time but the policeman who was restraining him did not let up.

This has sparked protests all over the United States and even in some parts of the world because of the unfair treatment of policemen to black people.

The death of George Floyd has sparked change all over the world. It has brought more light to the Black Lives Matter movement, which highlights police brutality against African Americans. The main reason for this is because his death could have been avoided.

His death happened while he was in police custody overusing counterfeit money at a local mart. While in custody officer Derek Chauvin held Floyd to the ground and had his knee in his neck.

This happened for approximately 8 minutes, in which Floyd stated he couldn't breathe, and then he dies. His autopsy states it was death through homicide from compression on the neck.

The autopsy that was carried out by the medical examiner of Hennepin County revealed that George Floyd died from cardiac arrest. This happened as a result of the restraints that an officer was trying to create, where which he employed neck compression. His death was also, in addition, as a result of some significant conditions like fentanyl intoxication, arteriosclerosis, and hypertensive heart disease, and methamphetamine used recently.

Previously, George Floyd was actually arrested by the police and handcuffed. In the process of preventing the intervention of the onlookers, a policeman named Derek Chauvin placed his legs on his neck for about 9 minutes.

Most likely, being unaware of the health condition of George Floyd, the policeman did not give the necessary attention to Floyd, who was already motionless, and later had no pulse. After some moments, George Floyd was declared dead at a nearby hospital. This incident happened on the 25th of May, 2020.

George Floyd (an African-American man) died on May 25th 2020 after being handcuffed and held to the ground by a police officer named Derek Chauvin. His official autopsy was released on Monday, 1st June 2020, and is suggesting now that he died in a homicide involving "neck compression".

According to the viral video and witnesses of the incident, George Floyd was pleading with the officer right before his death, saying, "I can't breathe." Witnesses begged the officer to stop and put him in the police car for questioning, but the officer was overly aggressive, forceful, and abusive. He misused his power to exhibit his authority over the man. A photo demonstrates that there were two other police officers at the scene who were actually helping to hold Floyd down on the ground, and he died while suffocating.
