Stun guns and tasers are non-lethal weapons used to subjugate a person in order to arrest him. They both have high voltage to temporarily scramble nerves and muscles. A stun gun is a close-range weapon in which you have to be close to the target before firing. It is pretty dangerous. A stun gun has a compact size, stun guns come in many shapes and sizes, and they are models that look like cigarettes or cellphone. Stun guns are cheaper than tasers. A taser can be used 15 feet away from the target; the taser needs cartridges containing electrodes, wires, and gas needed to lunch the electrode to the target. Taser is heavy, big, bulky, and shaped like a pistol. A taser is expensive than a stun gun. Some Tasers can function like a stun gun but not all.

However, a stun gun happens to be a close-range weapon, and of which you have to be closer to your target to make use of it. You know this can be more dangerous if your target is a fierce one. On the other hand, a taser can still be effective up to 15 feet from your target. So, you must make sure you are in range to utilize your weapon effectively. Also, note that it is easier to make use of a stun gun to hit your target than the taser. With taser, you would need to always reload with cartridges. A taser contains wires, electrodes, and gas to launch the electrodes to their desired destination.

Stun guns and tasers are non-lethal disincentives that are often used to subdue someone to make an arrest or to get away from him. The major distinction between a stun gun and a taser is the range. A stun gun is a close-range defender, and you need to be in proximity with your target before you can utilize it. On the other hand, a taser can be employed up to 15 feet away from the goal.

Both weapons use a rapid burst of extremely high voltage to temporarily jostle the nerves and muscles and make the subject lose command of his movements. One drawback of the taser is its requirement for cartridges containing electrodes, wires, and gas needed to release the electrodes to the targets. You also cannot fire a taser in quick succession as you can with a stun gun.
