Uvula and epiglottis are part of the body organ that plays an important role in the respiratory and digestive systems. The structure of a uvula tissue is soft, while the structure of the epiglottis cartilaginous is tough.

The uvula is found at the base of the tongue, while the epiglottis is found at the throat behind the tongue at the larynx entrance. The epiglottis prevents food and liquids from entering the trachea while the uvula closes the nasopharynx during swallowing.

The uvula contains serous glands, while the epiglottis contains the taste buds. The epiglottis is leaf-shaped, while the uvula is wedge-shaped tissue. The uvula is believed to help produce uvular sounds.

The uvula is discovered hanging from the bottom of the tongue. It is wedge-shaped, and it dangles from the roof of your mouth. Studies have demonstrated that this piece plays a significant role in excreting saliva, and it helps to close the Epiglottis.

Uvula may also assist in stopping food from entering the nasal cavities, and it also serves as a drain for mucus. The uvula helps to keep food and liquid in the appropriate place. On the other hand, Epiglottis is the leaf shaped cartilaginous flap that hangs from the windpipe and constructs the crossing of the glottis opening.

The cartilage tissue is elastic tissue made of small bunches of fiber that are highly flexible. The cartilage tissue in the Epiglottis is covered with mucus membranes to strengthen it slightly, and it creates a barrier before the trachea.

It can be confusing to know the different parts of the body. Some parts of the body are not being discussed as much such as the uvula and the epiglottis. When you say epiglottis, this can be found near the larynx. The uvula, on the other hand, can be found at the base of the tongue. Their functions are also different from each other. The uvula will be in charge of helping you produce the sound that you need.

The epiglottis, on the other hand, will be in charge of making sure that food and other liquid will not enter the trachea when people are swallowing. When this happens, a person might have food and drinks enter the nasal cavity.
